How to improve your mood, naturally.

We all get into a bad mood sometimes, and once we get into one it often feels impossible to get out. 'Waking up on the wrong side of the bed' can affect our productivity and positivity, so we are going to give you some nifty natural tricks to try and improve your mood, every day.

1. Boost Your Mood With Food

Your dietary choices have a more powerful impact on how you think and feel than you might think. Research suggests that certain vitamins and food types may help to counteract depression and low moods. Make sure you're eating omega-3 fatty acids, found in foods like flaxseeds, walnuts and fish, as well as probiotics found in yoghurt and tempeh. B Vitamins, especially Folate, have also been found to better our moods, so eat up your leafy greens!

Personalised Tip: You can easily supplement with a Vitamin B-Complex to make sure you're getting the right amount each day.

2. Exercise Every Day (even if you're in the dumps)

We know that if you're in a bad mood, getting a workout done is the last thing on your mind, but trust us on this one. Use your will power to get moving, follow an online workout video or go for a 15 min jog round the block. The immediate rush of endorphins and adrenaline will do a U turn on your bad mood.

3. Never Skip Breakfast

Something small like skipping breakfast can wreak havoc on your energy levels and mood throughout the day, due to lowering your blood pressure. Make sure you're getting a well balanced, healthy breakfast every single morning to increase your alertness and positivity.

Personalised Tip: Try adding walnuts, flaxseed and hemp seeds for the ultimate mood booster breakfast!

4. Hydrate

Dehydration causes fatigue and irritability, so if you feel a slump coming on, down a pint...of water.

5. Burn Lemon Essential Oil

Studies on essential oils and their effects show that Lemon essential oil has significant positive impacts on our mood and stress levels. As you smell fragrance in your bedroom or workspace, see if you can notice your bad mood shifting.
