Follow This Daily Routine To Reduce Facial Redness

Facial redness could be the result of a number of different causes such as sensitivity to skincare products, rosacea, or even over-exfoliation. We recommend seeking help from a dermatologist to get an accurate assessment, but in the meantime, try to follow this daily routine to help soothe and calm your skin.

1. Morning Cool Compress

When you wake up, use a flannel soaked in cold water as a gentle facial compress. This will help to soothe irritation, reduce the appearance of redness and provide relief to any discomfort.

2. Less is More

When it comes to skincare, less is more! If you're using 8 different cleaners, toners, moisturisers and primers, it might be a good idea to strip things back to the bare minimum. You might be surprised at how less is best when it comes to keeping your skin clear.

3. Moisturise Before Make-Up

A good quality, non-scented moisturiser can act as a barrier between your skin and your make-up and will keep your skin hydrated throughout the day.

4. Coconut Oil: Make-up Remover and Moisturiser

If you've been using chemical based make-up removers or moisturisers, experiment with using coconut oil as an alternative. After washing your face with cool water, use a cotton pad with coconut oil to get off mascara and foundation while moisturising your face.

Personalised Fact:

Coconut oil contains lauric and caprylic acid, known for reducing redness and inflammation.

5. Aloe In The Evenings

Aloe Vera is a soothing and cooling natural plant gel that can help your skin with redness, sunburn and other inflammation issues. You can buy Aloe Vera based moisturisers and gels, or even invest in an Aloe Plant and take the gel directly from the leaves!
